New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) provides the concrete resources that working artists and emerging arts organizations need to thrive. 


Established in 1971 as an independent organization to serve individual artists throughout the state, the mission of New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is to empower emerging artists and arts organizations across all disciplines at critical stages in their creative lives and professional/organizational development. Submit to NYSCA Out-of-Cycle Fiscal Sponsorship Application

This application is for projects not currently sponsored by NYFA that want to apply to NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship in time to apply for a NYSCA FY2027 grant. NYFA is accepting out-of-cycle applications for the following funding opportunities:

  • Support for Artists
  • Support for Sponsored Organizations
  • Targeted Opportunities: Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship

If you are not applying for NYSCA, our next standard free application cycle opens July 15 and closes August 17.

Fees This application carries a reduced out-of-cycle fee of $100 for expedite review of application. 

Projects accepted that only want to apply to NYSCA don't need to pay an additional NYFA registration fee.

Projects accepted for sponsorship that want to join NYFA fiscal sponsorship program are subject to a separate $150 registration fee.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES: 

Please review our program guidelines here and complete the form below to see if your project qualifies for NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship. 

ELIGIBILITY FORM:

Complete the form with information about your project. This should take only a few short minutes to complete. This form is meant to help understand if your project meets the basic eligibility for the NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship program. All projects that meet these basic requirements are not guaranteed acceptance.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • If you proceed to the application stage, you can either apply during our quarterly application cycles or choose to submit an out-of-cycle application.
  • There is no fee to apply to the program during the regular application cycle. Projects wishing to apply out of cycle will be required to pay a $175 application fee at the time of submission. Payment of the application fee does not guarantee acceptance into the NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship program.
  • All projects accepted into the NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship program will pay a $150 registration fee upon signing their Sponsorship Agreement.
  • In case we're not a fit for your project, a list of additional fiscal sponsors can be found on the Fiscal Sponsor Directory.
